“I am convinced that a completely new and enlightening
inspiration is needed.”
Albert Einstein
from a letter written to Cornelius Lanczos
on 14 February 1938
The irreconcilable differences of the quantum
theory and general relativity have created a significant chasm
that has not been bridged. The invisible world of the
quantum
and the visible world of general relativity pose incredible
differences which may never be resolved.
It is time to explore new theories, to literally
start over and reexamine the very foundations on which our current
interpretation of physical reality is based.
One possible scenario goes back in time to the
years in which Einstein was developing his General Theory of
Relativity, considered by many to be his greatest work.
The Subtleties
of Light examines a new basis
for our understanding of light and its relationship with gravitation,
posing some new possibilities that may greatly simplify this
quest.
